Abstract - Description of Pycnoschema kisoa Dechambre male (Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae, Dynastinae, Pentodontini), rare species endemic to Madagascar - The genus Pycnoschema J. Thomson includes 32 species. 31 are distributed in continental sub-Saharan Africa (Afrotropical ecozone) and 1 in Madagascar. In 1986 Dechambre described Pycnoschema kisoa based on the sole female, the unique known species of the genus from Madagascar. Thanks to the acquisition of some Dynastinae from an old private collection, I could come into possession of Pycnoschema kisoa male, the sole male specimen known, whose description and illustration is the aim of this work.
