Abstract - How insect communication changes: the case of Hilara sartor Becker (Diptera Empididae). The peculiar reproductive strategies of empidid flies and their evolutive implications - This article describes a particular communication strategy evolved in a species of diptera of the family Empididae - Hilara sartor Becker, 1888 - commonly known as “balloon fly”. This name refers to the peculiarity of male courtship and nuptial gift, which can only be understood by retracing the evolutionary history of this species, in comparison with other dipterans of the family Empididae (KESSEL, 1955). In fact, in the most ancestral species of the genus Rhamphomyia, the males use to give females a prey wrapped in some thin silk threads, to ensure mating. However, in some species of the genus Hilara, males give females a prey completely wrapped in silk. Finally, the male of H. sartor builds only an empty silk wrap. This behavior does not guarantee any nutritional advantage to the female, therefore it can only be understood from an evolutionary perspective, as a vestigial trait of an atavic courtship ritual. However, the male's aim is always the same: ensuring its reproductive success (CUMMING, 1994).

Abstract - We present the results of a preliminary study on the ground beetle fauna of Quirimbas National Park, Cabo Delgado province, Mozambique, with descriptions of three new species. The list is composed of species of Coleoptera Carabidae collected by François & Simon Génier, with the help of Marcelino Denja, in the Province of Cabo Delgado (Mozambique). The specimens were determined by Sergio Facchini, except the Scaritinae, which were determined by Petr Bulirsch, and the Cicindelini, Chlaeniini, Cyclosomini and Panagaeini by Peter Schüle. The following new species, currently known only from Cabo Delgado, are also described: Siopelus (Aulacoryssus) mossambicensis n. sp., Loxoncus bilobus n. sp, Lachnothorax immaculipennis n. sp. Photos of the habitus of the new species and drawings of the respective genitalia complete the article.

Abstract - Description of Baldorhynchus trezzii n. sp. from the Lombard Prealps (Coleoptera, Curculionidae, Entiminae) - Personal researches conducted in some caves of the eastern Bresciano, specifically in the Sabbia Valley near Provaglio V. S. (Gardesan Prealps), led to the discovery of a single female specimen of the genus Baldorhynchus (Di Marco & Osella, 2002), which, in a subsequent study, turned out to belong to a still unpublished species of the "kahleni group" (sensu BELLÒ, OSELLA & BAVIERA, 2016). The description of the new entity therefore constitutes the main subject of this note.

Abstract - The longicorn genus Obages Pascoe, 1866 belonging to the tribe Mormopsini of the subfamily Lamiinae is herein revised. Six new species, Obages (Obages) yokoyamai sp. nov., O. (O.) gentingensis sp. nov., O. (O.) pahangensis sp. nov., O. (O.) montanus sp. nov., O. (O.) miyakei sp. nov. and O. (O.) okudai sp. nov. are described from the Malay Peninsula, Malaysia. A new monotypic subgenus - Muscosusobages subgen. nov. - is established based on the type species, Obages cameroni Breuning, 1972. Three new species groups, the Obages (Obages) palparis species group, the O. (O.) tuberculipennis species group and the Obages (Muscosusobages) cameroni species group are proposed. Six congenerous already known species are redescribed based mostly on the holotypes. Habitus, maxillary palpi and aedeagi etc. are illustrated. A key to subgenera, species groups and species of the genus Obages are provided.
