Abstract - In this paper the first records for Suriname, the ant Pachycondyla crassinoda (Latreille,1802) (Formicidae: Ponerinae) and the beetle Ecitotropis carinata Borgmeier, 1936  (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) are given.
