Abstract - Revision of the Duvalius Delarouzée, 1859 of the bensae and straneoi groups (sensu MAGRINI, 1997, 1998), with description of a new taxon (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Trechinae) - A new taxon from Umbria - Duvalius cirocchii pelosae n. ssp. (Mount la Pelosa, Polino, Terni) -, syntopic with Duvalius straneoi Jeannel, 1931, is here described. For the first time, a complete iconography of the male genitalia with their copulatory lamellae for all the Duvalius of the bensae and straneoi groups (sensu MAGRINI & VANNI, 1984, updated in MAGRINI, 1997-1998) is presented: the copulatory lamella of a topotypic male of Duvalius bensae (Gestro, 1892), never correctly figured, is also illustrated. Duvalius bensae lombardii Straneo, 1939 and Duvalius bensae faillai Magrini & Vanni, 1984 (for the former, a new locality is reported: Grotta di Monte Cucco [Cave of Mount Cucco] N° 17 U/Pg) are elevated to species rank: Duvalius lombardii Straneo, 1939 and Duvalius faillai Magrini & Vanni, 1984. The work better defines the bensae and straneoi groups, and gives a chronicle of the descriptions of the various taxa, distribution map and keys to them.
