Abstract - A new Duvalius Delarouzée, 1859 from Marche and notes on Duvalius ruffoi Magistretti, 1956 (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Trechinae) - Duvalius carottii n. sp. is described from Marche (C Italy), Grotta Fredda N° 449 Ma/AP, Rio Garrafo, m 430 a.s.l., Acquasanta Terme (Ascoli Piceno). It is an anophthalmous, depigmented, medium-large sized species, belonging to the straneoi group (sensu MAGRINI, 1997, 1998), nominal subgroup, for the shape of the copulatory lamella. The aedeagus is large, short, hamate at apex as in the other species of the group, the copulatory lamella is well sclerified, with two parallel, pointed appendages joined at base that has a posterior margin distinctly arcuate, typical characteristic of the straneoi subgroup; a single, median, large appendage superimposed on the base is also present. Morphometric and iconographic data on a population of Duvalius ruffoi Magistretti, 1956 from the summit of Mount Sibilla (Sibillini Mountains) are also reported.
