Koch, 1938) from Portugal (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Paederinae)
- A new
Domene
(subg.
Lathromene)
is
described from an abandoned mine in northern Portugal: Gruta Maria
Isabel (Vila Real, Campea). The new species appears different from
the others known for the exoskeleton and aedeagal characteristics as
well. Unusual the great development of the aedeagal ventral lamina,
in lateral view very long plough - shaped, and in ventral view
parallel-sided (sides also sinuous) spearhead - shaped. The ventral
lamina is very protruding from the body of the median lobe of the
aedeagus, and it is the largest and the most prominent among all the
known Iberian Lathromene
species,
together with Domene
(Lathromene)
orense
