Abstract - The new fossil soldier beetle Malthodes aphidiphagus n. sp. from the Eocene Baltic amber of Poland is here described and illustrated. In the landscape of both extant and fossil Malthodes, it shows a couple of important characters which are unique: long elytra almost completely covering abdomen and metathoracic wings, and last urites (both tergites and sternites) little modified.
