Abstract - A new Italian species of sub-anophthalmous Lathrobium is described and illustrated: Lathrobium violii n. sp. from Vetto d'Enza, Tassaro Valley, Reggio Emilia (Emilia-Romagna). The new species is closely related to Lathrobium rosai Bordoni, 1985 from Mount Altissimo in the Apuan Alps (Tuscany), especially for the shape of the aedeagus, but it differs for the external characters and the peculiar structures of the aedeagus and its inner sac.
