Remarks on the genus
Calabresia Alonso-Zarazaga, Lyal, Bartolozzi & Sforzi, 1999
with description of a new species from Vietnam
(Coleoptera: Brentidae: Brentinae: Arrhenodini)

by

LUCA BARTOLOZZI & EYLON ORBACH

Abstract - Calabresia marcoi n. sp., from southern Vietnam, is described based on two male specimens from Bao Loc (Lam Dong province). The new taxon is close to Calabresia sapaensis Kabakov, 2001, from northern Vietnam, but it differs from the latter for the more developed elytral apical tips and the different arrangement of elytral markings. The synonymy between Calabresia distributa (Kleine, 1925) and Calabresia iridescens (Calabresi, 1920) (n. syn.), from peninsular Malaysia, is also established. The genus Calabresia Alonso-Zarazaga, Lyal, Bartolozzi & Sforzi, 1999 currently includes seven species.

Remarks on the genus Thrasycephalus Kleine, 1916
with description of a new species from Cambodia
(Coleoptera: Brentidae: Brentinae: Calodromini)

by

LUCA BARTOLOZZI

Abstract - Thrasycephalus Kleine, 1916 is a full genus, not a synonym of Mesoderes Senna, 1898. Thrasycephalus rossii n. sp. is described from Cambodia. The new taxon is close to T. guttatus Kleine, 1916, but differs from the latter in having light brown prothorax instead of black, thinner posterior yellow transversal stripe on elytra, and elytral sutura yellowish brown from base to apex, instead of black. A key to the species of Thrasycephalus is also given.

Le attuali conoscenze sul
genere Typhloreicheia Holdhaus, 1924, endemico italiano,
con descrizione di una nuova specie
del Massiccio del Matese
 (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Scaritinae)

di

PAOLO  MAGRINI

Abstract - The current knowledge on the genus Typhloreicheia Holdhaus, 1924, endemic to Italy, with description of a new species from the Matese massif (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Scaritinae) - It is herein described a new taxon of the genus Typhloreicheia Holdhaus, 1924 - T. martelluccii n. sp. - collected in a wood in the Matese massif (Caserta, Campania). It is the first endemic species of this genus to the region and to peninsular South Italy, where until now only single stations of Typhloreicheia usslaubi (Saulcy, 1870), species widespread all over peninsular Italy, were known. All the taxa of the genus are briefly listed by means of marks on maps, and divided in three groups, according to their geographical distributions: 1) species from peninsular Italy and the Tuscan Archipelago; 2) species from Sicily and surrounding islands; 3) species from Sardinia and surrounding islands.

On the distributions of
Cotaster cuneipennis (Aubé, 1850) and
C. speziai Diotti et al., 2015
(Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Cossoninae)

by

LUCIANO DIOTTI, ROBERTO CALDARA & JIŘÍ KRÁTKÝ

Abstract - New distributional data of C. cuneipennis (Aubé, 1850) and C. speziai Diotti, Pesarini & Caldara, 2015 are here presented and mapped. The known ranges of both species are significantly modified. Actually, C. speziai, reported only from north-eastern Italy, Austria and southern Germany on the basis of the type specimens, is widely distributed in central Europe to south-eastern Poland, and it is there the unique known species of the genus. On the contrary, the distribution of C. cuneipennis is more limited than previously recorded, and mainly restricted to the Alps and the Balkans. The two species are sympatric only in a narrow area of north-eastern Italy, southern Germany, southern Austria and Slovenia; however, in no locality the two species seem to cohabit.

Abstract - Paratyphlus percussor n. sp., description of the first Sardinian representative of a genus new to the fauna of Italy (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Leptotyphlinae, Entomoculiini) - Description of Paratyphlus percussor, new species of the tribe Entomoculiini from Sardinia. Following the discovery of the new taxon, representative of a genus new to the fauna of Italy, the keys to the tribes and genera of Leptotyphlinae in Fauna d’Italia (PACE, 1996) are updated, in particular to avoid confusion with the species of the genus Cephalotyphlus Coiffait, 1955 belonging to another tribe (Cephalotyphlini). A transcription error in BORDONI & FANCELLO (2016) about the species Cephalotyphlus vicetinus (Pace, 1975) is also corrected.

LUCA FANCELLO & PAOLO MAGRINI

Abstract - The Langelandia Aubé, 1842 of the subgenus Fleischerella Reitter, 1911 from Sardinia, with description of a new species (Coleoptera, Zopheridae) - An updated list of the Langelandia species of the subgenus Fleischerella from Sardinia and a key to the known Sardinian taxa are given. Some aspects of the biogeography of the endogean Sardinian Zopheridae are also discussed. Finally, the Authors describe Langelandia (Fleischerella) pseudoexigua n. sp. from Sardinia (type locality: Galtellì, Nuoro province). The new species is easily distinguished from the others belonging to the same subgenus for the concomitant presence of the following characteristics: pronotum (in dorsal view) with 4 distinct fossae (2 on each side) and with distinct lateral costae; elytra elongate, parallel-sided, with 1 costa very distinctly elevated between striae 2 and 3, protruding forwards as basal tubercle; presence of 2 striae between the dorsal costa and the false lateral margin of elytra (in dorsal view).

Una nuova specie del genere Sardulus
della Sardegna centro-orientale (Barbagia di Seulo)
(Coleoptera, Histeridae)

di

PAOLO MAGRINI & CARLO ONNIS

Abstract - A new species of the genus Sardulus from central-eastern Sardinia (Barbagia of Seulo) (Coleoptera, Histeridae) - Sardulus gelidus new species - the fifth described in the endemic Sardinian genus Sardulus Patrizi, 1955 - is described from Mount Arcuerì (Seui) and Sadali (Barbagia of Seulo). This hypogean species is well differentiated from the geographically close Sardulus incrassatus Magrini & Fancello, 2005 (for the different shape of the aedeagus, especially, quite shorter and large), and more similar to the southernmost species - Sardulus onnisi Magrini, Casale & Marcia, 2012 - from which is however easily distinguishable by the shorter and dilated aedeagus, and the different punctation of integuments.
