Two new species of the genus Harpalus Latreille, 1802
from continental Africa
(Coleoptera Carabidae, Harpalini)

Abstract - The descriptions of two new species of the genus Harpalus Latreille, 1802 - H. namibicus n. sp. and H. malawicus n. sp. - from Africa are given. The habitus and male genitalia of the new species are illustrated. Some notes on the distribution of Harpalus prosperus Basilewsky, 1972 are also provided, and the following systematic change is proposed: Harpalus pseudoanisodactylus Kuntzen, 1919 is a junior (new) synonym of Selenophorus rufomarginatus Boheman, 1848.
