Abstract - A new Typhloreicheia species from central Sardinia, sampled in hypogean environment in “Tacco del Sarcidano” (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Scaritinae) - The authors describe Typhloreicheia puddui n. sp., sampled in two caves located in the “Tacco del Sarcidano” area (central Sardinia): Is Breccas, Su Disterru de Lorita cave (800 m a.s.l.), and Funtana de Tetti, Sa Sperradura de Tetti cave (650 m a.s.l.), both in the Gadoni territory. The new species, both for external characters and the structure of male genitalia, is close to Typhloreicheia carlonnisi Magrini, Marcia & Casale, 2011, from which it is markedly distinct by the following characteristics: more elongate body, shorter antennae, less developed denticulation at elytral sides, aedeagus in lateral aspect wider at apex, copulatory piece of the endophallus wider and more sclerified, median lobe of the aedeagus in ventral aspect very differently shaped, not straight but turned to the left, left paramere wider, provided with three setae (two in T. carlonnisi).
