A new subgenus of the genus Parascatonomus Paulian
from Africa
(Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae, Scarabaeinae)

Abstract - A new African subgenus of the genus Parascatonomus Paulian, 1932 is established for Parascatonomus maculatus (Fabricius, 1801) as the type species: Morettoeus subgenus nov. Further, both Parascatonomus chloroderus (d’Orbigny, 1905) and Onthophagus imbellis d’Orbigny, 1905 are assigned to the new subgenus of Parascatonomus.
