Abstract - Notes on some Otiorhynchus Germar, 1822 (Subgen. Italorrhynchus Magrini, 2019) from Central Italy, with descriptions of a new taxon and the male of O. (I.) avoni Magrini, Bastianini & Abbazzi, 2008 (Coleoptera, Curculionidae, Entiminae) - A new species of the Genus Otiorhynchus Germar, 1822 (Subgen. Italorrhynchus Magrini, 2019) is described from Mount Brunette (Foligno, Perugia, Umbria): it is the 43rd taxon of the subgenus known from Italy (cfr. MAGRINI, 2019). The new species can be compared just with the four geographically closest taxa: 1) O. (I.) cirocchii (Osella & Abbazzi, 1985) from Mount Subasio (Spello, Perugia) [the new species has a larger size, an evident keel at middle of rostrum (no keel in O. cirocchii), a much wider pronotum, posteriorly especially, and with much larger areolae, these on elytra smaller, a less ogival abdomen, longer antennae, spermatheca with longer cornus, morphologically different spiculum ventrale]; 2) O. (I.) giuliabenellii Magrini & Benelli, 2021 from Forcella del Fargno (Sibillini Mountains, Macerata) [the new species has a larger and posteriorly broader pronotum, with large areolae separated by flat interspaces (these convex in O. giuliabenellii), elytra wider and less narrow at the back, much longer antennae, only metafemora with a small tooth (all femora with teeth in O. giuliabenellii), spiculum ventrale with wider fork, spermatheca with longer cornus]; 3) O. (I.) fioronii Magrini, Meoli, Cirocchi & Abbazzi, 2003 from the caves near Marmore Waterfalls (Marmore, Terni) [the new species has a larger and posteriorly broader pronotum, with large areolae separated by flat interspaces (these convex in O. fioronii), elytra wider and less narrow at the back, only metafemora with a small tooth (all femora with teeth in O. fioronii), morphologically different spiculum ventrale, with less rounded lamina, spermatheca with much longer cornus]; 4) O. (I.) vignolii Magrini & Petrioli, 2020 from Mount la Pelosa (Polino, Terni) [the new species has a larger and posteriorly broader pronotum with larger areolae separated by flat interspaces (these convex in O. vignolii), punctation of the ventral surface of the body more marked and abundant, metafemora with a small tooth (these without tooth in O. vignolii), spiculum ventrale with slightly more spread fork, spermatheca with longer cornus. More evident the differences with the geographically distant species.
The male of O. (I.) avoni Magrini, Bastianini & Abbazzi, 2008 is described for the first time: it is smaller and less slender than the female, with much shorter abdomen, the aedeagus is short and wide in ventral view, with a broadly rounded apex.
