* We have sent some e-mails to Dr. Mu Mu Aung, entomologist in Myanmar, urging him to participate in our joint research project. However, unfortunately, we have not yet received his reply. We suspect that it may be due partly to the difficult situation of his country.

Abstract - The description of a new species of the genus Anthracus Motschulsky, 1850 from the Republic of South Africa is given, and the habitus and male genitalia of Anthracus bulirschi n. sp. are illustrated. Moreover, the following systematic change is proposed: Anthracus franzi Basilewsky, 1961 is a junior (new) synonym of Acupalpus (Stenolophidius) posticalis Putzeys, 1880.

Riassunto - In questo articolo è descritta e illustrata una nuova specie della Repubblica del Sudafrica appartenente al genere Anthracus Motschulsky, 1850: Anthracus bulirschi n. sp. Viene infine proposta la seguente variazione di status sistematico: Anthracus franzi Basilewsky, 1961 è nuovo sinonimo di Acupalpus (Stenolophidius) posticalis Putzeys, 1880.

Description of a new species of 

Teraticorhynchus Kleine from Vietnam

Abstract - Teraticorhynchus innae n. sp. is described based on a single male specimen from the Gia Lai province in central Vietnam. The new taxon is closely related to Teraticorhynchus defectus Kleine, 1925 but can be distinguished by the shape of the rostral appendages, the shape of the scales on pronotum and by the different disposition of the elytral yellow marks. The new species is illustrated and the list of the species belonging to the genus is updated. Teraticorhynchus defectus is also quoted for the first time from Malaysia.

Riassunto - Si descrive Teraticorhynchus innae n. sp. sulla base di un esemplare maschio raccolto nella provincia di Gia Lai nel Vietnam centrale. Il nuovo taxon è simile a Teraticorhynchus defectus Kleine, 1925 di Malesia, ma può esserne agevolmente distinto per la diversa forma delle appendici rostrali, la forma delle squamette pronotali e la diversa disposizione dei disegni elitrali, La nuova specie è illustrata e viene aggiornata la lista delle specie appartenenti al genere. Teraticorhynchus defectus viene inoltre citato per la prima volta di Malaysia.

Abstract - Gastrocentrum pan n. sp. is described from Borneo. Habitus, male genitalia and other characters of taxonomic value are illustrated. The new species is placed within the dichotomous key given in YANG et al. (2020). G. magnum Yang et al., 2020 is reported for the first time from Peninsular Malaysia, and G. laterimaculatum Gerstmeier, 2005 for the first time from Indonesia.

Abstract - A new species of Phelotrupes is described from Vietnam: P. (Eogeotrupes) yenbaiensis sp. nov. A new subspecies of P. (Phelotrupes) kubani Král et al., 2001 is also described from Vietnam: P. (P.) kubani australis ssp. nov. In addition, P. (S.) strnadi axanensis Ochi et al., 2018 is upgraded to species rank.

Un nuovo Duvalius ipogeo della Campania

Riassunto - Nella presente nota viene descritto un nuovo Duvalius ipogeo della Campania, appartenente al Gruppo franchettii (sensu MAGRINI, 1997-1998), campionato in una grotta dell’Altipiano del Matese orientale, posta sul Monte Cigno, presso Cusano Mutri, Benevento. Della Campania era per ora noto solo un altro Duvalius, sempre del Matese, ma in questo caso occidentale: Duvalius carchinii Vigna Taglianti, Magrini & Vanni, 1993, appartenente invece al Gruppo cerrutii (sensu MAGRINI, 1997-1998). La nuova specie si differenzia da quelle note per numerosi caratteri, evidenziati nel testo e nelle iconografie di questa nota, compresi gli altri taxa del Gruppo franchettii, tutti molto più settentrionali.

Abstract - A new Duvalius from Campania (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Trechinae) - It is described herein a new hypogeal Duvalius, belonging to the franchettii group (sensu MAGRINI, 1997-1998), from a cave on the oriental Matese Plateau, on Mount Cigno, near Cusano Mutri, Benevento (Campania). From Campania, it was known another Duvalius only, but from western Matese - Duvalius carchinii Vigna Taglianti, Magrini & Vanni, 1993 - belonging to another group: the cerrutii group (sensu MAGRINI, 1997-1998). The new species is different, for numerous characters, from all the other known taxa, including those of the franchettii group, all with a more northern distribution.

Abstract - A new glyptomeroid Lathrobium from the Picentine Mountains (Campania) (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Paederini) - The authors describe and illustrate Lathrobium oscum n. sp. sampled in a lignite mine located near Acerno (Salerno, Campania), comparing it with two other species from the Picentine Mountains: L. petruzzielloi Bordoni, 2018 from Grotta degli Angeli (Mount Cervialto, Acerno, Salerno), and L. rosamariae Bordoni & Petruzziello, 2023 from an ichthyol mine (Giffoni Valle Piana, Salerno). 

Riassunto - Gli autori descrivono ed illustrano Lathrobium oscum n. sp., campionata in una miniera di lignite della Campania situata presso Acerno (Salerno), confrontandola con altre due specie dei Monti Picentini: L. petruzzielloi Bordoni, 2018, della Grotta degli Angeli (Monte Cervialto, Acerno, Salerno) e L. rosamariae Bordoni & Petruzziello, 2023 da una miniera di ittiolo (Giffoni Valle Piana, Salerno).

Riassunto - Nella presente nota viene descritto un nuovo Duvalius ipogeo dell’Umbria, appartenente al Gruppo irmoi (sensu MAGRINI, DEGIOVANNI & CIROCCHI, 2010), campionato in una grotta del Monte Acuto, presso Umbertide (PG). Di questo gruppo era per ora nota solo la specie nominale: il nuovo taxon si presenta più grande e nettamente più specializzato alla vita sotterranea rispetto a questa e presenta numerose differenze evidenziate nel testo e nelle iconografie di questa nota.

Abstract -  A new hypogean Duvalius from Umbria, belonging to the irmoi Group (sensu MAGRINI, DEGIOVANNI & CIROCCHI, 2010) (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Trechinae) - This note describes a new hypogean Duvalius from Umbria, belonging to the irmoi Group (sensu MAGRINI, DEGIOVANNI & CIROCCHI, 2010), sampled in a cave of Mount Acuto, near Umbertide (PG). Only the nominal species was known from this group for the time being: the new taxon is larger and distinctly more specialised to subterranean life than the former, and shows numerous differences highlighted in the text and iconography.
