n. sp. from European Turkey (Coleoptera Geotrupidae) *by

Abstract - Lethrus (Lethrus) liviae n. sp. from European Turkey (Type loc.: 11 km N of Eceabat, Çanakkale Province) is described and illustrated. Within the nominotypic subgenus according to NIKOLAJEV (2003), the new species is related to the ones which share anterior angles of pronotum remarkably produced forward, being the closest ally to L. (L.) brachiicollis Fairmaire, 1855, from western Anatolia. L. liviae n. sp. also relates, though to a lesser degree, to L. (L.) fallax Nikolajev, 1975, formerly reputed to inhabit only Turkish and Greek Thrace (KRÁL & NIKOLAJEV, 2006), and hereby recorded as new to western Anatolia. To complete this work, relevant diagnostic characters are discussed, and original pictures and drawings of the species dealt with are presented.
Riassunto - Lethrus (Lethrus) liviae n. sp. di Turchia Europea (Loc. tipica: 11 km a N di Eceabat, Provincia di Çanakkale) è qui descritto e illustrato. Nell’ambito del sottogenere nominotipico "sensu" NIKOLAJEV (2003), la nuova specie è imparentata con quelle ad angoli anteriori del pronoto fortemente prolungati in avanti, e rappresenta il parente più stretto di L. (L.) brachiicollis Fairmaire, 1855 di Anatolia occidentale. L. liviae n. sp. risulta anche affine, seppur in minor grado, a L. (L.) fallax Nikolajev, 1975, specie finora ritenuta diffusa solo in Tracia turca e greca, e qui segnalata come nuova di Anatolia occidentale. Il lavoro è completato dalla discussione dei caratteri diagnostici pertinenti e da fotografie e disegni originali delle specie trattate.
